Like a three-dimensional painting using perspective, Yoon's photographic works, which are expressed three-dimensionally by emphasizing the contrast and contrast of light, can confirm the artist's intentions more clearly when viewed directly in the exhibition hall.
In the artist's note, artist Sangmin Yoon said, "I create abstract images using the characteristics of light by touching the heart of the camera with my eyes armed with patience and my fingertips that embrace love. Creativity starts with breaking the existing frame. Photography is an art that expresses very realistically, but the photos I create are abstracted by omitting a lot of the details of the tree being photographed.”
According to artist Yoon, abstraction begins by omitting detailed realistic expressions. Subtraction is another addition, and omission is another creation. In the omitted figure, the boundaries are blurred and the figure is unclear, but a different figure is created with a deeper meaning.
Artist Yoon said, “The shedding of light and the ambiguity of colors appearing in my works are another language and aesthetic message to express abstract images. I abstract the image by inducing the light to mix with the flow of light and color through changes in diffraction, refraction, and reflection inside the camera. And the intention of my work is to create so that love, perseverance, peace, and dreams are contained in those images.”
