이야기가 없는 나무는 없다. 따뜻한 봄이 찾아온다고 나무는 호들갑을 떨지 않으며 추운 겨울에 내몰려도 피하지 않는다. 조용히 나무가 할 수 있는 준비를 할 뿐이다. 

나무는 따뜻한 봄바람의 고마움과 차가운 겨울바람의 인내심을 몸통 나이테 속에 깊이 새겨 넣는다. 나무는 자연의 변화 뿐만 아니라 인간들의 희로애락을  오랜 기간 동안 한 자리에 서서 바라보며 새겨진 세월의 파편들로 성장한다. 

사진은 아주 사실적으로 표현하는 것이지만 내가 추구하는 사진은 촬영대상인 나무의 세밀한 부분을 아주 많이 생략하여 추상화 한다.

추상은 세밀한 사실적인 표현을 생략하는 것으로부터 출발한다. 빼는 것은 또 하나의 더하기 이고 생략은 또 다른 창조 이다. 생략된 모습에서 경계가 모호해지고 모습이 불 분명 해지지만 깊은 의미가 더해진 다른 모습으로 창조된다.

나는 순수하게 카메라 작업만으로 추상화된 나무의 모습을 통해 나무의 나이테 깊숙한 곳에 새겨진 희로애락 그리고 희망과 꿈을 세상 밖으로 이끌어 내어 소통하는 작업을 한다.

Artis Note

No tree is without its tale. A tree doesn’t fuss about the warm spring nor does it try to avoid the cold of winter. It merely does what a tree does to prepare.

A tree ingrains in its tree rings the gratitude of a warm spring breeze and the endurance of a cold winter wind. A tree grows steadily for a long time watching in place not only the changes in nature but the joy, anger, sorrow, and jubilations of the people.

A photo often portrays objects realistically but the type of photo that I’m pursuing omits the details of the object and dissociates into abstraction.

Abstraction begins with omitting realistic details. Subtraction is another addition and omission is another creation. Omitted image creates vague boundaries and unclear appearances but takes on another form with a deeper meaning.

I am simply revealing to the world through my camera works the life, hope, and dreams ingrained deep in the tree rings of an old tree.

没有故事就没有树。温暖的春天到来时，树木不会大惊小怪，即使在寒冷的冬天被扔出去，树木也不会回避。它只是在尽可能安静地准备树。

树木在树的圆环中深深地体现出温暖的春风的感激和寒冷的冬季风的耐心。树木长成一整年，被刻成碎片，长久地刻在树上，不仅改变了自然，还改变了人类的情感和悲伤。

摄影是一种非常真实的表达，但是我追求的摄影是抽象的，因为它省略了要摄影的树木的许多细节部分。

抽象从省略详细的现实表达开始。减法是另一种加法，遗漏是另一种创造。在省略的形式中，边界变得模棱两可，形式也不清楚，但是它以另一种形式创建，并添加了深层含义。

我的工作是通过纯粹用摄影作品抽象出来的树木图像，将世界的欢乐，悲伤，希望与梦想带出世界，以此进行交流。
